This blog is directed mainly to those people who are studying Spanish as a foreign language and are interested in Argentinian culture. This blog may be helpful to you if...

• ...you're planning to visit Argentina as a tourist for a couple of weeks.
• ...you're studying abroad and spending a semester or even more in this country.
• ...you have Argentinian friends and would like to practice your Spanish with them.
• ...you are a curious person and would like to learn about Argentinian Spanish and culture.

Usually, only two varieties of Spanish are taught: Spanish Spanish and Mexican Spanish. Don't worry! Argentinian people will very likely understand what you're saying to them. The problem is you may have some trouble trying to understand what they are saying to you. The purpose of this blog is that you become familiar with our vocabulary, expressions and customs, so that you don't feel estranged or lost.

You can also practice your Spanish while you're visiting this blog! That's one of the reasons why I decided to make it bilingual. You should keep in mind, though, that the texts in Spanish and English will be written differently so as to prioritize the meaning. This means that it will not always be a literal translation. Please remember that my English isn't perfect, so you may spot some spelling or grammar mistakes every now and then.

Este blog está dirigido principalmente a aquellos que están estudiando español como lengua extranjera y que están interesados en la cultura argentina. Puede resultarte útil si...

• ...planeás viajar a Argentina como turista por un par de semanas.
• ...sos un estudiante de intercambio que estará en el país por un semestre o más.
• ...tenés amigos argentinos y te gustaría practicar con ellos tu español.
• ...sos una persona curiosa y querés aprender sobre el idioma y la cultura argentina.

Generalmente, se enseñan solo dos variedades de español: español de España y español de México. No te preocupes! Lo más probable es que los argentinos entiendan lo que les estás diciendo. El problema es que podés tener algunas dificultades para entender lo que ellos están diciéndote. El propósito principal de este blog es ayudarte a familiarizarte con nuestro vocabulario, nuestras expresiones y costumbres, para que no te sientas perdido/a.

Mientras visitás este blog también podés poner en práctica tu español! Esa es una de las razones por las que decidí hacerlo bilingüe. Debes tener en cuenta que los textos en español e inglés no siempre serán exactamente iguales. Al dar prioridad al "sentido" del texto, pocas serán las veces en las que se utilice una traducción literal. Recordá que mi inglés no es perfecto, así que probablemente encontrarás errores ortográficos o gramaticales de vez en cuando.
